Though the film didn’t manage to impress the critics at large, it still got cash registers jingling which is indeed impressive. Despite garnering not-so-flattering reviews, the romantic thriller ended up collecting Rs 10.40 crore on the opening day thus becoming the biggest opener of this year till now. Akshay Kumar’s action thriller Baby which released last month had minted Rs 9.3 crore on day 1. But surprisingly Roy has surpassed its first day collection.
