KATHMANDU, JAN 27 – Domestic tech
dealers have lined up a slew of
tablets, laptops and ultra books for
launch this week. Being readied to be
rolled out are products from Dell,
Lenovo, Asus and other brands. A
number of companies have also
planned to unveil laptops with Intel’s
fifth generation processor.
Nagmani International, the authorised
distributor of Asus in Nepal, is all set
to take the wraps off four new models
of its fifth generation laptops, the ZEN
UX 303, K 555, X 455 and X 555, on
Wednesday.
The UX 303 ultra book is powered by
Intel Core i7 processor and features
NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M graphics.
According to the company, the
UX303LN also features a Quad HD+
IPS touchscreen display with a
resolution of 3,200 x 1,800. The laptop
offers a wide 170-degree viewing
angle. The 13.3-inch ultra book will be
sold at Rs 109,800 during CAN Info
Tech.
Similarly, the K 555 is equipped with
a fifth generation i7 processor and
comes with a 15.6-in display. The
ultra book will be priced at Rs
106,200. Likewise, the X 455 and the X
555 both are powered by an i5
processor and come in 14-in and 15.6-
in sizes. These laptops are priced at
Rs 63,900 and Rs 76,500 respectively.
Meanwhile, Mega Tech, the authorised
distributor of Lenovo laptops and
tablets in Nepal, has planned to
introduce the Lenovo Y 50 laptop this
week. The 15.6-in device is suitable
for hardcore gamers as it comes with
a fully loaded gaming software. Priced
at around Rs 135,000, the laptop is
powered by a fourth generation i7
processor. It features 8 GB RAM, 1 TB
hard drive, 4 GB graphics and the
latest Windows OS.
The company is also planning to unveil
the Lenovo Ideapad A 3000 tablet. It
is powered by an MT 8389/8125 Quad-
Core 1.2 GHz processor and runs on
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The tablet
comes with a 7-in LED 1,024 x 600 IPS
Multi-touch screen. The Ideapad
features 1 GB RAM, 16 GB RAM
expandable up to 64 GB, 5 MP rear
and 0.3 MP front cameras, G-sensor,
Ambient Light Sensor, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, voice call and 3G, among
others. According to Dil Kumar
Shrestha, senior sales manager at the
company, it will be priced at Rs
25,000.
Likewise, Dell’s authorised distributor
Generation Next Communication is
planning to launch the Dell Inspiron
3442 laptop this week. The device
comes with 14-in HD display and
features the fourth generation Intel
PDC processor, 4 GB RAM and storage
capacity of 500 GB. The laptop will run
on Windows 8.1 OS. The laptop will
cost in the range of Rs 50,000 to Rs
60,000.
